Supported Employment

Working as a Supported Employee is like any other job, just with a bit of extra support.

At HELP, our support officers work alongside you every day to make sure you feel safe and happy on the job.

You can try different jobs to see what you like best and ask questions whenever you like.

Our locations:

Our Eagle Farm location has been a supported employment site for over 50 years!

Home to many of HELP’s social enterprises businesses, our Eagle Farm site offers employees exciting roles in:

  • Manufacturing
  • Warehousing
  • Supply Chain
  • Hospitality (at our onsite café, Fison Food Factory)

Our Crestmead site is our newest HELP location! At Crestmead you can get a job in:

  • Supply Chain
  • Warehousing
  • Third Party Logistics

Our Ipswich site is located next to our Ipswich Disability Care Hub and offers jobs in Supply Chain services.

Our Acacia Ridge site is just a stone’s throw away from HELP’s Sunnybank Hills site, and Disability Care Hub. The types of work available here include:

  • Supply Chain Services
  • Food Packaging

Our Sunnybank Hills site is situated next to our Sunnybank Disability Care Hub (and is only 5 minutes from our Acacia Ridge site). This location offers a variety of work including jobs in:

  • Food Packaging
  • Warehousing
  • Third Party Logistics

Our Gympie site is HELP’s green Hub for recycling! Types of work available here include:

  • Recycling of clothes, cardboard, paper and soft plastics
  • Document destruction
  • Sale of second hand wooden pallets and new packing cartons

HELP’s Oxford Park Nursery is located next to our Mitchelton Disability Care Hub.  At the nursery you can try jobs in:

  • Horticulture
  • Garden Maintenance
A Help Employment Coach supporting a job seeker in their job search process.

Disability Employment Services (DES)

We give people with injury, illness, disability, or health conditions the support they need to find a job.

We can help you:

  • Prepare your resume
  • Enrol in courses or take part in training
  • Practice interviews
  • Connect with local employers
  • Access resources to assist your health and wellbeing

Sparks Fly for Jackson | Supported Employment Story
HELP Manufacturing gave Jackson the opportunity to learn on the job, with a goal of one day becoming a welder. Since starting in late 2020, Jackson has had hands on welding experience and has also learnt to drive a forklift (among many other new tasks!) Jackson enjoys being a part of a positive and inclusive workplace where he feels comfortable asking questions and being himself. We're excited to see what the future has in store for Jackson!

Kelly's Rise to the Top | Supported Employment Story
Don’t be fooled by her vibrant purple locks or contagious giggle – this lady means business! Since joining HELP as a Supported Employee 5 years ago Kellie has achieved some seriously life-changing goals. With the support of the Acacia Ridge HELP team, especially Senior Employee Support Officer Glenys, Kellie has gained her forklift and driver's license, completed her Cert 3 in Disability, AND transitioned into a Team Leader role.
